London-based photographer Sara Vo interprets and transfers past memories through analog photography techniques utilizing her 35mm, SX-70, and 600 Polaroid cameras. The result is a kaleidoscopic burst of emotional and marred images. Vo's recent work Dreams and Nightmares from Heaven and Hell is a recreation of her father's journey to Britain from Vietnam in the 70s with a clever and beautiful spin incorporating sculpture-like mermaids. The photos whisper of a delicate and melancholy time while at the same time making a loud and vivid statement. Vo's next project entitled "Ông" was inspired from her 6-week stay in Vietnam during her grandfather's passing. She will be re-photographing the everyday snapshots she took of him as beautiful fashioned versions of his death.
